Hydraulic grass fork delivers satisfied customers and reduced fuel consumption

Mads Rasmussen, who has worked at CMC Agricultural Contractor for the past six years, explains that the JST grass fork has made his job easier, resulted in more satisfied customers, and reduced the agricultural contractor’s fuel consumption.

Mads is currently operating in the silage clamp with the JST grass fork that CMC Agricultural Contractors purchased last season. Mads is very satisfied with the fork’s width of just over 4 metres. It makes his work of levelling the clamp more efficient than when he used a bucket or a stone fork as he did before.

“The customers are also happier with it. You get at least a ton more into the clamp. The fork itself weighs two tons, so you get a bit more weight for compacting. We can press a lot more air out,”

Mads Rasmussen, CMC Agricultural Contractors

With a silage fork, he gets much more pressing time and spends less time pushing up and levelling off. He estimates that the fork provides 20% more pressing time. Combined with the extra weight that the large silage fork offers, it increases the amount of grass in the clamp by at least a ton – and that results in satisfied customers.

It would be foolish for agricultural contractors not to invest in one!

The grass fork reduces fuel consumption at CMC

“It would be foolish for agricultural contractors not to invest in one!” says Mads bluntly. He explains that CMC Agricultural Contractors have reduced their fuel consumption thanks to the large grass fork, as the loader doesn’t struggle as much to keep up in the clamp. This is despite the fact that the agricultural contractors operate a Krone forage harvester in the field.

“It works perfectly, I must say. You need some power if a full load comes in and you want to fill the fork 100%, … But the other wheel loaders have also worked fine,” says Mads, who operates a Volvo L90H.

In addition to the Volvo that Mads currently operates, he has also used the grass fork on two different Claas loaders, a Ljungby, a JCB, and the agricultural contractor’s old New Holland V190, so he has gathered extensive experience with the attachment.
